Breathwork Practices
Chanting the OM mantra and examples of other fun practices. Then the gentle heart felt intimacy of
Pink Hat Tantra (a middle path form of neotantra, which is a blend of red and white elaborated by Guy Sohm) plus a slight mention of the passionate depths of Red Tantra (Sexual and sensual energy) and a glimpse into the transformative shadow work of Black (Left-Hand) Tantra which Red is apart of. Which is something that you could explore after developing a strong foundation in the inner realms/ world with White Tantra (right hand) first traditionally.
The best way to sum Tantra is the it is the practices and techniques to liberate your self and become enlightened. Depending upon which linage, eg traditionally Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. These days many workshops and teachers are neotantra a modern day interpretation of Tantra.

Poem
Elemental Tantra, the claim nurturing winds blows up against your skin, feeling the element of Air breathing in, slowly exhaling to totally let go and come into the flow… listening to the water washing over the rocks, a lesson in allowing hard things to create beauty within… Water 🏝🏞🌊
Collection of wood waiting to burn, transformation of ego up in flames to discover the excitement of exploring the present moment. 🔥🌅 Fire lights us up, creating a dancing Tribal beat with each tap into the earth with your feet.. 👣🌱🏞 earth grounding us deep into the mother, safety in connection to the land like no other. 🧡 Simular to the unconditional love of a dog, backwards spelling God, surrendering to the the Divine, seeing all perfection in what is, methods of yogic philosophy which uncovers such mystery.

🌺 Traditional Tantra: Ancient Roots, Eternal Relevance
Long before Tantra became associated with its more sensationalized modern interpretations, it emerged in the sacred temples, caves, and yogic schools of ancient India, Nepal, and Tibet as a profound spiritual science. Tantra — from the Sanskrit root tan (to expand) and tra (to liberate) — is ultimately a path of expanding consciousness to attain liberation.
At its core, traditional Tantra is not about indulgence, but integration. Some teachers say transfiguration or Sādhanā.
It honors both the light and the shadow, the sacred and the mundane, inviting us to use every aspect of life — breath, sound, movement, emotion, even desire — as fuel for awakening depending on which path your practicing.
🕉️ The Right-Hand Path (Dakṣiṇācāra)
This is where all initiates traditionally begin. The White Tantra path is rooted in purification, discipline, devotion, and mantra. It involves:
-
Daily sadhana (spiritual routine)
-
Meditation on deities or internal archetypes
-
Ritual worship (puja) and offerings
-
Chanting sacred sounds (mantra)
-
Guru-disciple relationships to transmit subtle teachings
The goal is to transcend the ego through surrender, devotion, and inner stillness — gradually preparing the body and mind to hold expanded states of awareness.
Non-Dual Awareness
One of the most profound insights of classical Tantra is non-duality (Advaita). They teach in Hinduism that Shiva (pure consciousness) and Shakti (creative energy) are not separate — they exist as a unified field in all of us. Tantra doesn’t reject the world in search of God — it sees the Divine in all things: in the body, in nature, in silence, in sound, and in love.
“Yatra yatra mano yati tatra tatra samadhayah” —
“Wherever the mind goes, there is the potential for meditative absorption.”
This quote from the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, one of the common Tantric texts, reminds us that even distraction, pain, or pleasure can become portals to presence when we meet them consciously.
🌸
Let the sacred be simple. Let your presence be the offering. Let your life be the puja.
🕊️ The Many Branches of Tantra: Hindu, Buddhist, Jain & Beyond
Tantra is not a single path, but a vast tree with many branches, blossoming in different cultures and spiritual systems. While all share a common goal of spiritual awakening through expanded awareness and embodiment, the methods and worldviews can vary greatly. Here’s a look at the primary Tantric traditions:
🕉️ Hindu Tantra (Shaiva, Shakta & Vaishnava)
Hindu Tantra is perhaps the most well-known and widely practiced. It developed alongside the Vedic traditions and includes various schools that worship different aspects of the Divine.
Key Branches:
-
Shaiva Tantra: Focuses on Shiva as the Supreme Consciousness. Practices include intense meditation, mantra, mudra, kriya yoga, and ritual worship (puja). Texts like the Shiva Sutras, Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, and Kularnava Tantra are central.
-
Shakta Tantra: Devotion to Shakti, the divine feminine energy. This includes Kundalini awakening, use of yantras, rituals, and the worship of goddesses like Kali, Durga, Lalita Tripura Sundari. Highly ritualistic and deeply embodied.
-
Vaishnava Tantra: Less common, centered around Vishnu and his avatars (like Krishna). It integrates Tantric elements into bhakti (devotional) paths.
Hindu Tantra is dual and non-dual, ranging from ascetic practices to more esoteric left-hand paths (Vama Marga).
☸️ Buddhist Tantra (Vajrayana)
Also known as the Tantric Buddhism of Tibet, Vajrayana evolved out of Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism and is practiced in Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, and Mongolia.
Core Concepts:
-
Uses mantra (sacred sound), mudra (symbolic gestures), and mandala (sacred geometry) for visualization and meditation.
-
Deity Yoga: Meditators visualize themselves as enlightened beings like Avalokiteshvara, Tara, or Vajrasattva to embody their awakened qualities.
-
Empowerments (initiations) are required to practice.
-
Includes sexual yoga (Karmamudra) in advanced stages but only for highly initiated practitioners, and always within a strict ethical and spiritual framework.
Vajrayana = The “Diamond Vehicle” — it’s said to be a faster path to enlightenment, like a lightning bolt, but requires great discipline and devotion.
🧘♂️ Jain Tantra (Tantra in Jainism)
Jainism is often seen as austere and non-violent, yet certain Jain sects developed Tantric rituals for protection, healing, and liberation.
Features:
-
Uses mantras and yantras associated with Tirthankaras (liberated souls) or goddesses like Padmavati.
-
More focused on rituals and magical formulas than internal meditative awakening.
-
Seeks to accumulate spiritual merit and purify karma through symbolic offerings and recitation.
It’s less focused on Kundalini or embodiment than Hindu or Buddhist Tantra but still carries rich esoteric layers.
✨🔥Folk and Tribal Tantra (Adivasi & Earth-Based Traditions)
Many indigenous traditions of India and Nepal have Tantric elements — without calling them “Tantra.” These include ritual magic, nature worship, spirit offerings, and intuitive forms of energy healing.
-
Focus on earth energies, spirits of place, and ancestral wisdom
-
Deeply shamanic and ceremonial
-
Sometimes integrated with mainstream Tantra or considered “left-hand path” (Vamachara)
These traditions emphasize experience over dogma, feeling over form, and often involve music, drumming, dance, and elemental offerings.
🧿 Sufi & Taoist Tantra (Tantra-Adjacent Paths)
While not “Tantra” by name, Taoist alchemy and Sufi mysticism share core elements: energy refinement, inner union, ecstatic devotion, and body-soul integration.
-
Taoist Inner Alchemy: Involves breathwork, sexual energy retention, and chi circulation through meridians (similar to Kundalini).
-
Sufism: Uses music (Qawwali), whirling, and deep heart-opening devotion (Ishq) to reach union with the Beloved — mirroring Bhakti-based Tantric paths.
🌼 In Essence
Tantra is not bound by religion — it is a methodology for transformation that transcends dogma. Whether it’s through Shiva and Shakti, the Buddha Mind, ritual yantras, or sound and breath, the essence remains:
Liberate energy. Awaken presence. Embody the sacred.
Each tradition offers a different doorway into the vast temple of consciousness — and all ultimately invite us to bring the divine into every breath, moment, and relationship.
